Hi!
My Background
I am a bilingual Instructional Designer and Multimedia Specialist with a background in Visual Art, Special Education, Inclusivity, Technology, and International Learning.
Presently, I use Articulate Storyline & RISE, Vyond, Adobe Apps, and Canva to create well-designed and engaging digital learning resources for a variety of audiences. My audiences have included youth, families, providers, employees, customers, trainers, and upper management. I've administered an LMS, as well.
As a certified Special Education teacher, I have a deep understanding of learning differences. It's always been my goal to guide learners of ALL ability levels to success. I intuitively chunk complicated tasks into manageable parts and design corresponding visuals that assist with the knowledge transfer.
In the Greater Chicago area, I had the privilege of instructing learners from over 40 countries. As someone who has also been a student in Mexico and Italy and a teacher in Costa Rica, I consider inclusivity, cultural awareness, tone, and language in everything I create. I am fluent in Spanish.

Relentless Problem Solver
Problems interest me. While actively problem-solving, I think deeply about the audience, look at the problem from all angles, do my research, and analyze data. I get to the bottom of things with SME’s and ask the right questions to uncover understanding. As a creative and resourceful person, I come up with multiple solutions, many using outside of the box thinking.
Communication and Relationships
Collaboration is key. I’ve led and collaborated with peers, SME’s, and stakeholders for projects that have led to lasting results for a wide range of learners. Also, I enjoy both learning from teammates and being a mentor to newer colleagues. Written communication is also crucial in a fast-paced business. When writing copy and scripts, I ensure my writing is extremely clear, but concise.
I make the effort to get to know everyone around me, especially the target learners. I lead with empathy, assume best intentions, and seek common understanding.
Hobbies, Interests & Hidden Talents
In my free time, you can find me on my bike, working in my gardens, spending time at Lake Michigan with my family, reading a good nonfiction book, playing ping pong, and working on mosaics.
I am a lifelong learner. In the past year, I’ve learned all about UX by reading several books by leaders in the field, learned how to walk 5 miles a day on the treadmill while working on my computer and learned a few songs on the bass guitar. Yes, we have a family band.
I have a couple of hidden talents. I make pizza from scratch. I even toss the dough in the air. Thanks to my first job at Volcano Pizza! Secondly, I am generally unbeatable in Boggle. That’s what happens when all of your childhood family trips featured cold weather and no tv!
